Mirrored Garden, St. Edwards University

This existing mid-century heating and cooling plant is retrofitted with a lofted reading room and event space. A large mirror inserted in the space reflects a garden planted in the courtyard - once home to cooling towers. The design exploration involved a deep study of the post-war modern, when advancements in technology and a new reading of spatial relations produced buildings that were highly systematic and original.
